Incompletes, withdrawals, Repeats and re-starts
Students will be assigned a grade of “Incomplete” (Inc) if they did not complete all the coursework within a module. Students have one week, once a module has ended to complete the coursework, before an “Inc” becomes a grade of an “F”. The CGPA and incremental progress are recalculated at the time that student completes the work and receives a grade, or at the time the student is given an “F” for failing to make-up the incomplete work.
Withdrawals:
Students must submit a signed letter of withdrawal to the Director of Education. Students who withdraw from school will receive a grade of “W” in that module. If the student re-enters they will be required to repeat the entire module and the re-entry policy will apply.
Repeats:
Students can only repeat one module. They have the opportunity to repeat in the day or evening session. If the module is not repeated, in the allotted time the student will be recorded as a drop. The CGPA and incremental progress will be recalculated, unless the student does not attain a higher grade for the repeated module, in which case the student will retain the original grade in the course. Students with grades of “Inc” in a module can continue to receive student financial assistance if they are otherwise maintaining satisfactory progress.
Re-starts:
Students are allowed to restart at LAWTON CAREER INSTITUTE up to three times. After a students third attempt they will be placed on attendance and academic probation, until their entire program is completed. During this period the student must maintain: At least 80% attendance and a 2.0 GPA. Failure to meet the criteria above will result in dismissal from school and will not be permitted to return.
